The weather is slowly getting warmer and we are all desperate to get outside and do something!  Start this Spring off on the right foot (literally) and get involved in some really great events in your area to make you feel good about being active and inspired for a good cause.

Tampa Walk Like MADD 2018 (5k run/walk multiple locations)

March 23, 2018 (Tampa, FL)

About: Walk Like MADD is your chance to do something about drunk driving in your community.  This year, thousands of people in over 90 cities around the nation will participate in these 5k evens to eliminate drunk driving.  Funds raised benefit MADD and are used to provide resources to the victims and families of drunk driving victims, support heroes in law enforcement, and work with state and local legislators to adopt tougher laws around DUI driving.  https://www.walklikemadd.org

2018 Stroehmann Bakeries Back on My Feet 5-Miler (multiple locations)

March 24, 2018 (Philadelphia, PA)

About: The Stroehmann Bakeries Back on My Feet 5-Miler is a race to get you prepared for your best Blue Cross Broad Street Run finish yet!  All proceeds from the race will benefit the local Back on My Feet (BoMF) Philadelphia Chapter.  BoMF is committed to building a stronger and healthier community and benefits from the 5-Miler help to provide support for services to improve self-sufficiency for those experiencing homelessness.  https://www.backonmyfeet.org/2018-5-miler

March for Babies (5k run/walk multiple locations)

April 21, 2018 (Dallas and Fort Worth, TX)

About:  A March of Dimes event hosted at multiple locations across the country to raise money to expand programs and educate medical professionals to make sure that moms and babies get the best possible care.  The March of Dimes advocates for policies that prioritize mother and babies health and funds research to find solutions to the biggest health threats.  https://www.marchforbabies.org

Project Bread’s Walk for Hunger & 5k Run

About: Join your neighbors on Boston Common for the 50th Walk for Hunger, an annual fundraiser and demonstration of a unified commitment to ending hunger in Massachusetts. Hunger threatens the lives of 1 in 7 children in Massachusetts, but hunger is solvable and the Walk funds hundreds of local programs across the state that provide multi-faceted solutions.  http://www.projectbread.org/walk-for-hunger/

Warrior Dash (multiple locations)

May 19, 2018 (Portland, OR)

About: Warrior Dash is a 5k obstacle course race and festival.  This is the get-dirty race anyone can start and everyone can finish.  And, once you are done, you get to party at a festival with a live D.J., great beer, and other activities.  The Warrior Dash partners with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and it has raised $1 million with the help of participants.  After each race, The Warrior Dash also donates runners’ muddy shoes to GreenSneakers, who cleans, restores, and delivers them to people around the world in need.  https://warriordash.com

AIDS Walk New York (5k run/walk multiple locations)

May 20, 2018 (New York, NY)

About: AIDS Walk New York has been going on for over 30 years raising nearly 150 Million to combat HIV and AIDS.  The fund raised at the event remain a vital lifeline sustaining the prevention, care and advocacy programs operated by GMHC (GMHC.org) for thousands of men, women and families affected by the disease in the trials-state area.  The proceeds also benefit several HIV/AIDS service organizations that are able to participate as teams and raise funds through the Community Partnership Program (CPP). https://ny.aidswalk.net

Soldier Field 10 Mile

About: This Memorial Day weekend 10 mile race honors our military, with benefits going to local (Salute, Inc.) and national (Folds of Honor) veterans’ charities.  The race ends on the Soldier Field football field itself for an unforgettable finish.  Folds of Honor provides education scholarships to the children and spouses of those killed or disabled while serving our nation.  Salute, Inc. passionately pursues meeting the financial, physical and emotional needs of military service members, veterans and their families.  https://www.soldierfield10.com

AIDS/LifeCycle (7-day bike ride)

June 3-9, 2018 (from San Francisco to Los Angeles, CA)
